The Trickel Residence presented a particularly challenging design criteria, because the available building footprint was only 1330 square feet including the two-car tandem garage, and Ashland City ordinances limited the habitable space to 900 square feet.  Heiland Hoff Architecture employed a vertical design with 30 feet ceilings to make a very tiny house feel spacious and luxurious.

The Trickel Residence utilizes a unique double clerestory design that brings South light into every room in the house, displaying the Owner's and the Architect's commitment to sustainable passive solar heating and cooling.
